Client Charged in Miami Cocaine Trafficking Case Has Charge Reduced and Pleads to Credit Time Served

A young client represented by DMT was arrested and charged with cocaine trafficking. The amount of narcotics seized by law enforcement officers was close to the amount required to charge trafficking in cocaine. A Miami criminal defense lawyer at DMT hired an expert to re-weigh the cocaine.


As a result of the re-weigh of the cocaine, the expert determined that it was less than a trafficking amount. As a result, the prosecutor had to reduce the charge and offered our client credit time served. At the beginning of the case, our client was facing a three year minimum for trafficking in cocaine.
